The 2020 MIT Global Startup Workshop

Do you dream of ways to improve life for your community and country? Would you like to promote longer and stronger engagement between MIT and France while creating social impact and sustainability?

The Sustainable Society Startup Competition (SSSC) invites teams to address a major challenge that the Alps is currently facing—climate change and its effect on the surrounding communities. Established startups with a focus on sustainability and social issues are invited to apply.

APPLICATIONS CLOSED

Format

Apply to the MIT GSW Sustainable Society Startup Competition for a chance to:

  • Become one of the eight teams eligible to pitch in front of entrepreneurship leaders from France and MIT
  • Display your solution/products/services to over 400 attendees at GSW
  • Meet with potential investors, mentors and government officials

Prizes

Prizes worth €9,000 including a trip to MIT (connecting with MIT Entrepreneurs and mentors, touring the sustainability & entrepreneurial resources on MIT campus, MIT Solve seminars and many more!!), will be awarded. More details coming soon!



Eligibility

Who should apply?

  • The Sustainable Society Startup Competition is for startups of all stages with original ideas on how to solve pressing social and environmental issues facing communities.
  • Ventures must fall under at least one of the following or allied categories: Renewable Energy, Clean Energy, Agriculture & Food Sustainability, Social Impact and Climate Change, BioMedical and Deep Tech., Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and communities, Water.

  • Monday, 24th February 2020: Application Deadline
  • Monday, 9th March 2020: Team Selections Announced
  • Monday, 16th March 2020: Team Confirmations Due
